The spiral on top makes it convenient to use for either left or right handed persons. The bulk pack adds to the value. I just wish the covers came in more colors.

I have used these steno pads for years, for work. I go thru a pack of 12 a month or more.
Recently ( July 2015) I noticed that the paper quality is MUCH better !
The pen no longer drags on the paper, ( same type pens I always use ) but rather glides along and ink comes out much darker and easier to read. It seems that there is a silky finish to the paper now, which makes it much easier to write on. I compared it to some older versions of this steno pad and indeed, the old paper was very rough in comparison.
